WikiSpaces

I have had a hard time getting the editing the pages and at times I had to start over. I feel that I wasted quite a bit of time trying to change fonts and color.

Voice Thread

I made my voice thread but had a hard time getting the audio to work, I plan on recording the students in the next couple of days so I can complete this part of the project.

Work Session Part 2

Wiki spaces is acting strange and a lot of the work that I have already done had to be redone. I did most of it this morning but there still is plenty left to do.

Document Camera

We just found out that we need 2 projects for the document camera which we all thought we had this part done. It just adds one more thing to get done fast.

Document Camera problem

This the first time I'm having a problem with my document camera. It seems to be plugged in correctly, however the camera lens won't project any images from books on the screen. I hope to correct this problems soon.

Work Session

Marilyn came today for our work session and brought our much needed headphones. I now will be able to go back and add voice over to the photostory. I like the fact that these headphones will not be used all of the time so I will be able to keep them nicer longer.

MICCA

The MICCA technology conference was impressive. My favorite things were seeing LanSchool, a company that creates software that enables teachers to manage the computers in their room. I also enjoyed learning about the Pixie software. I'm looking forward to experimenting with Imageblender, which sounds like Photoshop but for a fraction of the price. I also enjoyed seeing the hardware that can connect 6 monitors and keyboards to one tower so you can have one tower in your room and 6 other computers.

Media PhotoStory

I created my own story about the day in the life of the Media Center. This was a great way for me to look at all of the different ways that the Media Center is used. Plus all of the different age groups.

Podcasting

Today, we had a work session on podcasts. I had no idea you could subscribe to podcasts through your Ipod. Podcasts could be a great tool to help skills express themselves orally and possible enhance their public speaking skills. I'm looking forward to getting microphones/headsets so I can work with the students on creating podcasts.

Interwrite training session

Today, I participated in a training session for Interwrite boards. The session took place after work hours at my school--Cooper Lane Elementary. It was useful to take time to refresh how to use the various buttons and to see what is offered in the gallery.

PhotoStory

This program is alot of fun. It's quick to learn and easy for the students. I look forward to getting the microphone so we can add voice over to our slides.

Camp Schmidt

We went to Camp Schmidt these past 2 days and the kids had a ball. They loved using the camera to take pictures of each other. They did a great job!

Photostory

I enjoyed manipulating the pictures I took during the photostory. I liked being able to type text over the pictures and the ability to add music. I wish I had microphones so I could add student voices to say what they are doing.

Digital Camera Battery

This Canon camera is ok. The battery life isn't that great. After about 10 shots, it dies........... I wonder why the county didn't invest in a rechargeable battery? We are in a recession - HELLO! Other than that, it is very easy to plugin to the computer.

Digital Camera

I used the digital camera and took pictures of my students working during reading groups and at centers. I was nice to capture them working together on an assignment or concentrating at the computers. I hope to use the digital camera during a science activity and capture the steps the students take to complete their project.

Digital Camera

Today Marilyn came and trained us on the digital camera, this is so much nicer and smaller that the one that I have at home. I did go buy more storage for this camera since we are going to Camp Schmidt and I know that the students will want to take lots of pictures.

Digital Camera

Our digital camera is small. I wish the memory card held more pictures. Can we use our own personal digital cameras for this project? I think using digital cameras can be useful for comparing and contrasting, before and after pictures for projects, and creating images for remembering any important experiences such as attending special field trips.

Document Camera

The document camera is cool. I like that it takes up less space than a visualizer. I like that you can display a page from a teachers edition, capture it, keep it on the board and be able to take the book away while still having the image of the book on the board. I only wish our document camera was able to hold a memory card and we could save the images.

Document Camera

This Elmo is really spectacular! I have already introduced it to my class and they went wild when they saw their faces on the InterWrite Board. To be so small, this machine does a lot.

Document Camera

I haven't really used the document camera as much as I thought that I would but being in the Media Center I don't have to display information all of the time. When I do need it it's nice to have and go back and forth between the PC and the Camera.
