Wikispaces

It was fun to register with wikispaces.com. I'm not clear on the purpose of having a wiki or how this is different than managing a website. I'm looking forward to working with my wiki more in the future and learning how I can use this in a classroom setting. Maybe I can use a wiki to communicate with parents.

First Year participant

I'm excited to be in the STEP program. I'm looking forward to learning about document cameras, digital cameras, podcasts, and wiki's. I've used a digital camera before. I have heard of podcasts, however I have not created one myself. I have never heard of document cameras or wiki's before. This should be fun.

My Invite to Join STEP

I am very nervous about this technology integration. Blogging, Podcasting, Wikispaces.....sounds like a foreign country. I looked around the room and it looks like I'm not the only "First-Timer". Thank goodness. This is going to be a journey to the unknown.

Document Camera

We got the document cameras today and of course they are really cool. I like the way I can go back and forth between the PC and the camera. The only thing that is really missing is a remote, this would be easier that having to walk back to the camera if I am in another part of the room.

Use of Technology

After months of training, I finally observed teachers using the interwrite board during instruction. I think they really enjoyed it. The students were also engaged.

First Year

I was a little hesitant at first to apply for this program since I knew that it would be a lot of work. I found a good group and teachers to work with and went ahead with the process. I was happy to say that we were accepted into the program and my principal was happy as well. I am very excited about the technology that we will be using.
